Parade Route
The parade route starts at the intersection of Wilborn Avenue and Chalmers Street at Enterprise Rent-a-Car.
The parade continues through downtown, turning right onto Seymour Drive at Constitution Square. Do not disband here – Continue on up Factory Street before disbanding.
No stopping and/or performing anywhere on the parade route, including the Sponsors Tent – this is not a judges tent.
Lining Up and Checking In
Parade staff will measure and stake the lineup locations from 8:30AM – 10AM Saturday morning. We do not know your street location until we stake it out.
After we finish staking at approximately 10AM, you can arrive as early as you like and find your own stake with your name and lineup number on it.
After staking, we will also post numbers by street name on DDSB’s Facebook page. Starting at 2PM, parade staff will be available at check-in at Enterprise-Rent-a-Car to direct you to your lineup position.
Please arrive no later than 4PM. If your entry is a float, it will be easier for you to arrive earlier than 4PM.
Judging Floats
Judging of floats takes place during the parade. However, the judges walk around and make notes at line-up time. This is so they can make visual notes about your float so they can easily identify floats as they pass by during the parade – they are NOT judging at this time.
You must display your organization name and lineup number on the front of your entry. This assures that the announcer and newspaper can identify your entry correctly.
All winners will be announced on downtownsobo.com on Sunday, December 8.
Line-up Porta-johns
Port-a-johns are located near Valero on Chalmers Street for bands and participants in parade line-up.
